Terms of Use for UMeet

Welcome to UMeet! These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the UMeet mobile application (the “Service”). Please read them carefully before using the Service.

By downloading or using UMeet, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Eligibility

  • UMeet is intended for university students.
  • You must be at least 17 years old to use the app.
  • You must sign up with a valid university email address.

2. Accounts and Profiles

  • When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
  • You may update or delete your profile at any time.

3. Using UMeet

  • UMeet helps you connect with other students through personalized recommendations, mutual approval matching, and event invitations.
  • Mutual approval is required before you can connect with another user.
  • You may create or join events, provided you respect other participants.
  • You agree not to misuse the app (e.g., spam, harassment, or inappropriate behavior).

3A. User Conduct and Safety

To maintain a safe and respectful community:

  • You agree to treat other users with respect and courtesy.
  • You may report another user if you believe they are violating these Terms (e.g., harassment, spam, or inappropriate behavior).
  • You may block other users; blocked users will no longer appear in your recommendations, friends, or event lists.
  • Repeated or serious violations may result in suspension or permanent removal from the Service.
  • Report data (reporter ID, reported ID, reason) is reviewed privately by the administrator and never shared publicly.

4. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect and use your information.

5. Intellectual Property

  • UMeet and all related logos, branding, and content are owned by Victor Capriles.
  • You may not copy, distribute, or modify the app’s content without permission.

6. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Break these Terms.
  • Misuse the Service.
  • Engage in harmful or abusive behavior.

You may delete your account at any time by selecting Delete Account in the app’s profile menu.

When you confirm deletion, your authentication record and all related data (profile, matches, recommendations, and events) are permanently removed from our systems and cannot be recovered.

7. Limitation of Liability

UMeet is provided “as is” and “as available.”

  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free service, or availability at all times.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, UMeet and its creator are not liable for any damages, loss of data, or issues arising from your use of the Service.
  • While we review reported content or behavior, UMeet does not actively monitor all user interactions in real time.

8. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If significant changes are made, we will notify users through the app. Continued use of UMeet means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain and applicable European Union regulations.
